How to choose a solar panel cleaning robot

Choose a robot around the panel layout and the work your team actually performs. A larger cleaning area alone does not tell you which machine fits the site. This guide compares CHUANMAI's single-roller and dual-roller tracked robots and the details to confirm before requesting a quotation.

1. Check the installation before choosing a machine

Prepare photographs of the full array, panel edges, row gaps and access routes. Include panel dimensions, tilt, obstacles and any changes in height. Ask the supplier to confirm the machine's permitted working conditions for that layout; a tracked platform should not be assumed to suit every roof or ground-mounted array.

Also describe how the equipment will reach the panels and move between separate rows. Setup, transfers and transport belong in the operating plan alongside the cleaning task itself. Follow the module manufacturer's requirements for cleaning tools and water.

2. Compare single-roller and dual-roller designs

The number of rollers describes the cleaning format. It does not, by itself, establish cleaning speed, surface compatibility or which model will save more time on your installation. Confirm machine dimensions, handling requirements and the selected configuration with the factory.

3. Confirm what remote control means

Both models described here use handheld remote control and require an operator. If your project needs autonomous travel, edge detection or another automatic function, request written confirmation that the chosen configuration includes it. Do not treat the word “robot” as a promise of autonomous operation.

4. Match the battery, water supply and accessories

Tell the factory how long a normal shift lasts, where water is available and how the team works across the site. Ask it to identify the battery version, charger, hose and other included items in the supply list. Published runtime descriptions refer to the stated product configuration; actual runtime depends on the battery selected and operating conditions.

Keep the water route and the operator's working position in the site assessment. Ask about the compatible replacement roller and any parts you expect to keep in stock. The standard product warranty is one year, with coverage and procedures confirmed in the order.

5. Compare complete quotations

A robot quotation depends on the model, battery version, accessories, customization, quantity and delivery terms. Compare quotations for the same equipment package rather than comparing an unspecified starting price with a complete kit.

  • Identify the model, quantity and battery version.
  • List the included accessories and compatible spare parts.
  • Specify any logo, packaging or equipment customization.
  • Confirm delivery destination, freight terms and production lead time.
  • Confirm operating guidance and warranty terms.

For a meaningful equipment demonstration, use a representative panel layout and include setup and transfers when assessing the work. Avoid relying on an unverified cleaning-area or energy-output claim.

When should you compare a brush instead?

For separated sections, edges or sites where an operator can reach the panels from a suitable position, also compare a pole-operated brush. Read the solar panel cleaning brush buying guide, or compare all five CHUANMAI models.

Send the details needed for a factory quotation

Share site photographs, panel layout, approximate cleaning area, water supply, quantity and delivery destination. If you have a preferred model, select it in the enquiry so the factory can confirm the proposed equipment package.

Equipment information is based on the linked model pages. Confirm the final specification, supply list and terms in your quotation and order.
